The Bankwest Academy will bring renewed enthusiasm to the development of our local rugby talent with a new three level structure that will create more pathways for emerging young talent as well as opportunities for experienced players.
Level one:
Player Profiles
Includes not only schoolboys and U20’s representatives but will also provide opportunities for Premier Grade players.
Level two:
Player Profiles
Largely be made up of National Gold Squad players as well as some talented State 16’s.
Level three:
Player Profiles
Entry level players aged fourteen and fifteen.
The program will run full time from October to March with the players completing up to five demanding sessions per week. The start of the WA local rugby season next year will prompt a change in tack for the BankWest Academy which will revert to a maintenance program focusing on club, school and state programs.
Players will be exposed to intensive skill and strength and conditioning programs, as well as player welfare workshops with the aim of preparing them for higher rugby honours and elite level competitions.

The Academy Level 1 players recently had a cooking workshop with Nutritionist, Sophy Porter to teach them the importance of a healthy diet in an elite athlete's life.
The players undergo nutrition workshops as part of their development as professional players off the field with correct nutrition being an essential element of the physical development for these players.
