Emirates
Emirates has proudly supported the Emirates Western Force since its inception in July 2005. A recently signed new deal has confirmed the award-winning airline will retain pride of place on the team’s ocean blue jersey until at least the end of the 2013 season.
Maintaining a broad profile of sports sponsorships is extremely important to Emirates and allows the airline to connect with its passengers by sharing and supporting their interests and building a closer relationship with them.
In Australia, Emirates is the major sponsor of:
· Emirates Melbourne Cup
· Australian Cricket Team
· Australian Jockey Club
· Collingwood Football Club
The airline is also the principal partner of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) and supports a range of local charitable events and initiatives.
Not just a leader in its broad portfolio of sponsorships, Emirates has received more than 400 international awards for its unsurpassed levels of customer service since its launch in 1985.
Since flights to Perth commenced in 2002, local demand for Emirates has continued to surge with flights increasing from an initial four per week to a daily service in March 2003, and then to a double daily service in September 2006. In January 2008 Emirates welcomed aboard its one millionth passenger on the Perth to Dubai route.
In 2010, Emirates will continue to expand its route network with the introduction of new destinations including Tokyo, Amsterdam, Prague and Madrid. These additions will bring its number of destinations in Europe to 25 and the total number of cities Emirates operates in to 105 in 60 countries across six continents.
