The Road Safety Western Force have been defeated by the Bulls from Pretoria 19-12 in the Quarter Finals at the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens.
The men from the West started with a bang, as Marcel Brache threw a huge cut out pass across the field and the excitement machine Chance Peni crashed over the line for the first five-pointer of the match. Michael Ruru couldn’t convert from the sideline leaving the score at 5-0.
The Force struck again less than 2 minutes later, after a dominate scrum in our 22 the men turned over the ball, then shifted the play to the opposite side of the field and new young gun Alex Newsome finished off the good work. Ruru successfully made the conversion taking the score to 12-0, giving the Force a handy lead at the main break.
The Bulls came out firing in the second half and scored through pacey outside back Warrick Gelant who dotted down under the posts. Successful conversion, taking the score to 12-7.
From there it was all the Bulls, scoring another two tries, the first through playmaker Tian Schoeman who finished off some brilliant work from Luther Obi. Another successful conversion gave the Bulls the lead 14-12.
It then took the Bulls just two minutes to score again, as Francois Brummer streaked down the left wing and scored in the corner. The Bulls couldn’t convert, but extended their lead to 19-12 with under five minutes left in the game.
That would be the final score line as the Force tried to break through the Bulls line, but were unsuccessful ending their tournament at the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens.
