Mr Howarth has spent over 35 years in the banking and finance industry. He is currently Chairman of Mermaid Marine Australia Limited and a non- executive director of Wesfarmers Limited and the BWP Trust. He is also a director of Alinta Energy. He is involved with a number of business and community organisations as Chairman of St John of God Health Care Inc. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University Of WA’s Business School and sits on the University Senate.
Mr Sauer is an existing member of the Board’s Community Rugby Advisory Committee, has been involved with the Nedlands Rugby Union Football Club as well as schools and junior rugby since 1994, including serving as Club President for three years. He was a Natal Universities U/19 representative prior to migrating to Perth. hans is currently Managing Director of Clearguard, an international mining services and engineering company and retains strong South African connections.
Mr Edwards is Regional Director for Asia Pacific of Fugro-TSM, has led a long sponsorship and donor relationship with the Western Force since the club’s inception. He has over 30 years worldwide experience with offshore oil, gas and marine contracting organisations. John has been a rugby player, coach and administrator in several overseas countries as well as Australia. He is a Director of the Force 15 Foundation and will provide a valuable commercial input with particular reference to South-East Asia.
Mr Fear is Chairman and CEO of Perth based investment bank Argonaut. He has had extensive experience in advising on Mergers and Acquisitions and Equity Capital Market transactions. Charles is a past President of the Western Australian Referees Association, he has also served as Chairman, Vice President and Treasurer of the Western Australian Cricket Association.
Mr Cook is a Senior Executive in the mining industry, who over the past 35 years has had direct operational, commercial and administrative responsibility for operations of both owner and contract mining business across a range of commodities. He holds tertiary qualifications in mining and an Executive MBA (UWA) and has been a member of the Community Rugby Advisory Committee (CRAC) reporting to RugbyWA Board since 2014.
Mr Staniforth joined the Western Force franchise for its inaugural season in 2006 from UK side London Irish, having started his career with the NSW Waratahs. He holds the record for the most number of tries in a season (nine in 2006) and was awarded Player of the Year in 2006. He played 12 Tests for the Wallabies and was a member of the 1999 Rugby World Cup winning side. He retired at the end of 2010 due to a neck injury after a successful career of 104 Super games, 47 of which were in Western Australia with the Western Force.
Mr Vaux is the first Sydney based director appointed by RugbyWA’s Board. Raised in Western Australia, Mr Vaux provides a valuable voice within the corridors of power at the Australian Rugby Union which is based in New South Wales. An accomplished businessman, he oversaw remarkable growth as CEO at listed healthcare company, DCA Group Limited and is currently Chairman of GenesisCare Pty Limited , a major provider of cancer and cardiology care in Australia . Mr Vaux also holds a number of directorships in both for profit and not for profit groups.
Dean Hely is the Managing Partner of Lavan. He is also the lead partner of Lavan’s commercial advice and litigation group.
