Former Road Safety Western Force Academy member Curtis Rona returns home following three spectacular seasons in the National Rugby League. Standing at 194cm and tipping the scales at 102kg the powerful back possesses spectacular speed and power with ball in hand and made of name for himself in the NRL thanks to his outstanding finishing ability. The former Canterbury Bulldog was the second highest try scorer in the NRL in 2015 and scored a staggering 39-tries in 53 appearances through his career. A Wanneroo Districts product and former Aranmore Catholic College student Rona adds incredible firepower to the Force backline and with the ability to play in the midfield and out wide will be a huge contributor in the blue jersey this season!
Agrees to a code switch taking up a two-year deal with the Western Force. Finishes his last season with the Bulldogs playing all 25 matches and scoring 11 tries. Was named in the New Zealand Maori side for a match against the New Zealand Residents.
Named in the Bulldogs Auckland Nines squad. Scored a try in is Bulldogs debut at Penrith Stadium. Finished the season as his clubs highest try-scorer with 23 tries in 25 matches. Was selected in the 24-man New Zealand rugby league squad for their 2015 tour of Great Britain.
Starts off 2014 as a member of the Cowboys Auckland Nines winning side, scoring two tries in the final. Made his NRL debut scoring a try in the Cowboys round seven loss to the Manly Sea Eagles. Finished the NRL season playing in six matches scoring seven tries before signing a two-year deal with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
Joined the Cowboys first grade squad, spending the 2013 season playing for the Cowboys feeder team, the Mackay Cutters in the Queensland Cup. In July, he played for the Queensland Residents representative side.
Signed a two-year deal with the North Queensland Cowboys in July before representing the Junior Kiwis.
Made the switch to rugby league after a successful stint as a junior rugby union player in the Western Force academy. Represented the WA U18 rugby league side before signing a three-year deal with the Sydney Roosters.
